BSRIA joins EU Public Private Partnership initiativeApril 2009

A few months ago BSRIA highlighted the Energy Efficiency in Buildings European Initiative, BSRIA is now pleased to announce that it has joined the E2B Association, as it believes this initiative will be a major influence on the construction sector and is committed to the transfer of new potentially relevant knowledge to its membership.

The E2B European initiative is an EU-wide Public Private Partnership being set up to fund large scale research and demonstration programs with clear technological and economic objectives within the built environment. This is a €2 billion initiative over 10 years, funded 50/50 from public funding (EU) and private sector, with the E2B Association as the industry grouping representing the private sector.

The E2B Association was formed to act as a focal point to represent and coordinate members' research interests within the PPP, seek and demonstrate industry engagement and collect information on national research priorities and initiatives.

With the increasing realisation that energy consumption and CO2 emissions are problems that need to be addressed the E2B initiative a very influential part of this process bringing together many companies from throughout Europe to agreement on the R&D issues that must be tackled.
If you would like to obtain further information on the E2B Initative, the Association or how to join, please visit the E2B website. Alternatively, contact the UK co-ordinator direct, marta.fernandez@arup.com. BSRIA of course will continue to keep it members updated on E2B initiative developments.
