BSRIA expert speaking at the Green Register Climate Change & Overheating eventJanuary 2018

Tassos Kougionis - Principal Consultant – Residential, Sustainable Construction Group
BSRIA is delighted to be fielding an expert speaker at the Green Register Climate Change and Overheating event taking place on Thursday 12th July 2018 in Bristol. Tassos Kougionis, Principal Consultant – Residential, at BSRIA’s Sustainable Construction Group will deliver a comprehensive presentation on Overheating in Homes. Tassos specialises in building physics and energy efficient buildings design.

The Bite-Size Session: Climate Change and Overheating – will look at how good design, appropriate services, materials and efficient ventilation strategies can support the delivery of comfortable and ‘healthy’ homes.

Emerging evidence confirms that overheating in homes in the UK is becoming more noticeable. With average temperatures increasing globally, and a strong drive for highly energy efficient buildings, particular attention will be given on how these properties can maintain comfortable indoor thermal conditions throughout the year.

Tassos will talk about:

  • Common definitions used for overheating and their limitations.
  • Role of SAP and assessment tools – predicting overheating.
  • Regulations, policies and industry’s good practice.
  • Designing for the future, addressing resilience through appropriate design.

Tassos Kougionis, Principal Consultant – Residential, at BSRIA’s Sustainable Construction Group, said:

“Overheating in buildings is a complex issue that policy makers are becoming increasingly interested in. My presentation focuses on providing the audience with technical and practical information which will assist them in better understanding and addressing the challenge.

I am delighted to be speaking at these ‘Bite Size’ sessions which allow for quick knowledge dissemination assisting industry professionals getting up to date with some of the ‘hottest’ industry topics.”
