BSRIA appoints dedicated press officerJuly 2015

Clair Prosser, Press Officer, BSRIA
BSRIA is delighted to have appointed a dedicated press officer within its marketing team to maximise press coverage across all communication channels, build press interest in existing products and services and manage reactive media enquiries.

Clair Prosser, who started with BSRIA on 6th July, has been taken on board to explore and develop innovative ways of communicating with the media, members and stakeholders, create multi-channel communication campaigns and monitor the industry press to produce output on the latest industry activities.

Monitoring the latest national and international government policy and the impact of such policies is also a key focus for Clair.

Tim Page, Marketing Manager, said: “We are pleased to have Clair join us for this crucial role – especially at an exciting time in BSRIA’s history with the 60th anniversary celebrations. The role is critical for increasing BSRIA’s brand communication – both internally and externally. As is working to our Strategy 2015 – 2025 document – which is the basis for our activity, not only between now and 2025, but beyond as we look to the longer term future of the building services industry and the part that BSRIA has to play in our built environment future.”

A qualified journalist, Clair has 17 years’ experience in trade organisations and a strong background in media liaison, public affairs, policy and lobbying government. Until June, she had spent 11 years with Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, campaigning on behalf of its members on key economic issues such as Heathrow and skills – giving many press, radio and television interviews for the local and national media. Before that Clair was with the Environmental Services Association (ESA) in London as public affairs executive.

Clair said: “I am excited about the new role at BSRIA and getting to grips with the challenging issues which have been temporarily submerged during the economic recession but which now form the foundations of the future development of this industry. Key amongst these is the carbon reduction, energy efficiency debate in which BSRIA sees its future. And the innovative and sustainable solutions which will help, not only BSRIA members, but also the industry at large. Clearly, the industry must stand up and be counted as thought leaders and opinion formers.”
