The V901 battery powered seismograph is designed and manufactured by Vibrock for measuring blasting, piling, demolition, construction and traffic vibrations.

With a battery life of up to 3 weeks for continuous 24 hour monitoring, the results can be downloaded to a PC, where they can be analysed, printed and saved using the software supplied.

The memory will last for about 300 events or 30 days continuous recording.


How do you mount the sensor / transducer ?


One of the most critical aspects of vibration monitoring is the placement and coupling of the measurement transducer.  The accuracy of any seismic reading is only as good as the quality of the connection between the transducer and the ground surface. Bolting to part of the structure to monitored is one solutions and a sandbag can also be effective if used properly, being loosely packed and large enough so that, when placed on the sensor, all sides of the bag are resting firmly on the ground surface.  Further details can be found within British Standard guide 7385 : 1990.
