Full description

The Soft Landings Core Principles have been developed by BSRIA working with the BSRIA Soft Landings Network. They are written for construction clients and their professional teams as guidance to inform Soft Landings processes for both new build and refurbishment projects. This latest edition contains minor improvements, additions and clarifications. If you already have the Soft Landings Core Principles as PDF, download the latest version to update your files.

A Soft Landings project is defined by following Core Principles. The package of principles should be adopted in their entirety in order for a construction project to be deemed a true Soft Landings project. It is important that clients and project teams recognise that the five Stages of Soft Landings are interdependent. In particular, Stage 2: Design Development is predicated on Stage 1: Inception and Briefing, while Stage 3: Pre-handover requires follow-through with Stage 4: Initial Aftercare.

You can buy this guide as part of our Soft Landings Set of 5 that contains Soft Landings and Government Soft Landings (BG 61/2015), How to Procure Soft Landings (BG 45/2014), Soft Landings Framework (BG 54/2014), Soft Landings Core Principles (BG 38/2014) and Pitstopping - BSRIA's Reality Checking Process for Soft Landings (BG 27/2011).

Please note that this guide uses the old five stages as defined in BG 54/2014 Soft Landings Framework. It has not been updated to reflect the six Phases as defined in BG 54/2018 Soft Landings Framework 2018.
