Jo has a wealth of experience of building operation and maintenance and heads up BSRIA's Sustainable Buildings Group
Jo heads up BSRIA's Sustainable Buildings Group. She has an MSc in Facilities Management and a BSc in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. She carries out consultancy work advising clients on building services risk management, investigating plant reliability and maintenance strategies. Jo has a wealth of practical experience including:

  • Maintenance and facilities management
  • BMS controls and HVAC
  • Data centre design and operation
  • Condition surveys
  • Energy management

Career Summary

At BSRIA, Jo provides consultancy services on facility management issues and carries out building services risk assessment, investigates plant reliability and condition. Recent projects include maintenance strategies, design reviews and production of building logbooks. Jo is responsible for BSRIA's operation and maintenance benchmarking network which collects and analyses data on facilities operational costs including energy and maintenance.

Jo's previous career experience includes:

  • Intel Corporation: Facilities Engineer and Building Management Systems Technician
  • National Physical Laboratory: Building Management Systems Engineer and Co-ordinator for the Air Conditioning Team
  • Mars Confectionery, Services Control Technician
