Meet the Author - Information manual for building services
A building manual is best described as an operators manual for the building, rather like the manuals supplied with new motor vehicles. It should contain all the relevant information with regard to the buildings operational services, from basic contact details through to compliance procedures and statutory certificates
BSRIA's latest publication Information manual for building services, due to be available from April 2010 will cover the topics of :
- Building Manual fundamentals
- Appraisal of existing documents
- Manual design, including who should compile and format
- Contents of the manual, ranging from basic building information through to statutory inspections
Meet the author
The author, Jo Harris, will explain the importance of building manuals, the background behind the publication, some of the content and how the publication can be used to help in your business activities. Delegates will also have the opportunity to discuss with Jo aspects of the publication and issues around building manuals.
About Jo Harris
Jo is a manager in BSRIA's FM and Design business unit. She provides consultancy services on facility management issues and carries out building services risk assessments, investigates plant reliability and condition. Recent projects include maintenance strategies, design reviews and production of building logbooks.
Jo is responsible for BSRIA's operation and maintenance benchmarking network which collects and analyses data on facilities operational costs including energy and maintenance. she has also worked on a number of recent BSRIA publications and research projects.
