BSRIA provides expertise and test facility for measuring flow rate and pressure drop on a wide range of different valves. By supplying various flow rates of clean water we are able to test valve characteristics and flow coefficient on a range of systems.

The independent tests are carried out in accordance with:

• BS EN 60534-2-3 : 1998 Industrial-process control valves Part 2-3: Flow capacity-Test procedures 
• BS7350:1990 Double regulating globe valves and flow measurement devices for heating and chilled water systems

There are different types of system that can be tested including: butterfly and double regulating valves, venturi, orifice and ultrasonic flow meters, cold-water supply systems, hot-water supply systems, water supply and waste systems in buildings.

Valve sizes range from 15mm up to 100mm with flow rates 0.062min and 26.040max. Flow rate ranges are as specified in the relevant test standard BS7350:1990.

Test results are presented in a technical report together with a certificate of performance.
