For emergency high temperature smoke and heat extraction fans, that are safety critical products, it is legally mandatory to be tested to EN 12101-3 standard and to carry the CE Mark.

BSRIA is the only UKAS accredited laboratory and a Notified Body in the UK to test to the EN 12101-3 and for CE marking.

Fans can be tested either ducted, fully immersed in the horizontal plane, or in a vertical position.
