Weather louvre certification - verification of performance and controlled production

Type-testing no longer offers adequate protection to buyers of weather louvres, as performance claims can be misrepresented and product quality may vary greatly from the tested sample.

This new scheme combines product performance evaluation with factory production control auditing, giving buyers confidence in performance and production methods and helping manufacturers to compete on quality.

The new certification scheme has been established to:

• Provide assurance of performance and consistent production, beyond simply type testing
• Create a level playing field for manufacturers
• Provide clear and unambiguous louvre performance ratings
• Enable specifiers and buyers to select louvres that are fit for purpose
• Ensure that independent product tests continue to give value back to manufacturers through the confidence given to their customers

Products included in the scheme will carry a clear performance rating which helps buyers to assess performance and match it to a particular application.
