Building information modelling

BSRIA works with its partner, buildingSMART, to promote the use of integrated Building Information Modelling through the BSRIA / buildingSMART network.

What is BIM?

Building Information Modelling (BIM) models and manages information as well as graphics for sharing information through construction and the whole building lifecycle, eliminating the need to re-enter data, and avoiding data loss, miscommunication, and translation errors. In short it is integrated CAD, plus data.
