O&M documents, building manuals and building user guides

BSRIA has developed a standard method to capture accurate, user-friendly information for building documentationUnder Building Regulations, new buildings require some form of log book. BSRIA recommends the delivery team compile a Building Manual and Building User Guide. These will also satisfy the building user information BREEAM credit. Although not compulsory, the completion of these documents is also recommended for existing buildings. 

BSRIA helps clients to compile accurate, user friendly documents based on a standard method we have developed to capture information about buildings.

Building Manuals and Building User Guides will:

• bridge the knowledge gap between building occupants, users and operators and the design concepts
• train and induct staff to ensure familiarity with the building
• give quick access to technical information for in-house and contracted staff
• provide information for refurbishments or rearrangements to work spaces
