Since its introduction, it has been a requirement for all public sector housing to be built to at least Code level 3. From 1st May 2008, all developments where a local authority has received a building notice, initial notice or full plans application after this date, will require a Code rating. Privately funded projects started after this date can use the "Nil rated" certificate if no assessment is carried out.
BSRIA is also a BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) assessor for non-dwellings, which makes us well placed to offer recognised environmental assessments for all types of developments.
