"The course content was very helpful and useful, particularly as our company is in the early stages of BIM awareness" Peter Gannon, Sales Office Manager, Smedegaard Pumps
"The 3D models made the idea of BIM real. Very informative" Susi Sharples, Project Administrator, Richard Turner & Associates
Interest around BIM is gathering apace, driven by the Government's requirement for Level 2 BIM to be used on all of its capital projects by 2016.
BIM can be a mechanism to make high quality information about the asset available from design through to operation, enabling better decisions to be made during procurement, and providing an improved level of data to the FM team.
This one day course will give the attendees a good understanding of the current status of this fast moving field.

Lecturer
John Sands
John has recently joined BSRIA's Sustainable Buildings Group as a Principal Consultant to drive the development of BIM within BSRIA, to help industry understand the principles and practices which define BIM, and give support via the BSRIA BIM Network group.
Prior to joining BSRIA, John worked at Hoare Lea where he was involved in a trial to automatically generate specifications from objects as they are inserted into the BIM model. This work will continue as a collaboration between Hoare Lea and BSRIA.
John is actively involved in industry discussions on classification structures for BIM, and represents the CIBSE at CPIC committee level on this topic. He also sits on the CIBSE BIM Group.
