Introduction
It is almost impossible to keep legionella bacteria out of water systems but whether the bacteria are able to proliferate and pose a risk to health depends on how those systems are managed. Most of the outbreaks that hit the headlines are not caused by failures of technology but by failures of those responsible for the building systems to understand and react to the factors that influence the risk. The Barrow outbreak, which resulted in the deaths of 22 people, is a case in point.

The webinar will review the principles of legionella risk reduction and practical implementation of the guidance contained in HSC L8 "Legionnaires Disease: The control of legionella bacteria in water systems".

Who will benefit from this webinar
The intended audience is persons who may not be experts in building services technology but find themselves legally responsible for maintaining a safe environment.
