BSRIA is a consultancy, test and research organisation, providing specialist services in construction and building services.
As a not-for-profit, member-based association, clients can be assured of our independent approach and authoritative reputation. Any profits made are invested in our on-going research programme, producing industry recognised best practice guidance.
BSRIA (owned by The Building Services Research and Information Association) was founded in 1956 and had a turnover of £8.6m in 2006/07. We employ 150 people, at our head office in Bracknell (UK) as well as regionally based airtightness testers in the UK and market research consultants in France, Spain, Germany and China.
OUR SERVICES
BSRIA offers a wide range of services to help companies improve the design, build and operation of buildings. Our unique blend of product testing and market research can also help manufacturers gain the relevant certification and plan their marketing strategy.
Design support
BSRIA offers design validation services of computer modelling, physical modelling and detail drawing reviews. Getting it right first time at design stage will avoid expensive and time consuming repairs during construction or occupancy.
We also offer environmental assessments such as BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes, as well as SBEM calculations and independent energy reviews to help meet planning requirements for new developments.
Product testing
BSRIA is the leading independent UK laboratory for testing, certification and performance verification of a wide range of building services products. Our internationally recognised certificates will help you gain the relevant markings for you products and independently prove their performance.
We can also carry out testing for designed for a specific use in construction projects as well as help to develop new and innovative products, proving their quality and help to get them to market.
Construction improvement
BSRIA offers a range of building compliance services to help your buildings pass first time, demonstrate quality and avoid delays in handover. We offer one-stop services including airtightness testing, thermal imaging, smoke testing, roof inspections, acoustic testing and SBEM calculations.
We also offer practical on-site and management consultancy to deliver projects on time, improving quality and providing excellent safety records. Our knowledge of worldwide construction projects can show you where your company could be and provide practical consultancy to get you there.
FM engineering
Our FM engineering services help building operators operate and maintain their buildings more efficiently, saving money and energy while minimising disruption to systems critical to their business.

Instrument solutions
BSRIA developed its instrument solutions division in 1990 to offer a total test and measurement service. We hire, calibrate and sell a comprehensive range of specialist instruments for building services and construction use.
Our service is backed by a Quality Assurance management systems (BS EN ISO9001:2000) and our team of expert engineers who can advise you on the best instrument for your need and offer technical support and site services.
